Mr. Ploof has been with The Portrait Shop since 1983. In that time he has photographed thousands of families, High School Seniors, Babies, Weddings, Dances, and Sports groups from all over Eastern Iowa. Mr. Ploof continually goes to seminars and studies with the top pros in this country. What does this mean to you? It means you'll be getting state of the art photography using the latest techniques and equipment. It means your portraits will always stand out from the crowd. And finally, it means you'll get the variety in your images you just can't get anywhere else.

All clients receive a complimentary design consultation prior to their portrait session. This ensures that clothing and settings will be coordinated to create a perfect portrait for you. It is also a great time for you to meet Dave, the photographer, to ensure you will be comfortable during your session. The creation fee is to be prepaid prior to the actual portrait session. It is a charge for the photographer's time, talent, and facilities. No finished portraits are included in this fee. It applies only toward the creation of your portraits. PROJECTION APPOINTMENT & ORDERING To aid you in your selections, the photographs you will see will be presented via our new innovative projection system. Because of the many styles and prices of our portraits, we will assist you with your selections in the studio. In this fashion, we are able to project your Portrait Originals in the available sizes. This is a valuable investment for you and we want your decisions to be the correct ones. There is no additional charge for this service. We are a proofless studio and Portrait Originals are placed in our projection system. What a thrill it is to see your portraits projected! However, if you prefer to have something to take home to make your selections, and you have a computer, we can help you out. Please ask us if you prefer this method. Please make sure all decision makers are able to attend the projection appointment, as we are unable to allow any unfinished work to leave the studio. We will schedule your appointment to view your images during regular business hours and can only schedule one appointment per session. If you do need to reschedule the appointment given to you for your viewing, please call us to reserve an alternate date and time. We know your time is valuable and we won't waste it. We will call to confirm your appointment 1-2 days in advance. Due to the demand for our style of photography, we usually have a waiting list. If we are unable to confirm your appointment time, we may fill your time with someone from our waiting list. We also regret, that if you are late, it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment to maintain an "on time" schedule for our other clients. We do regret this and appreciate your kind cooperation in these situations. We want to serve everyone properly. Due to the custom nature of our work, a deposit of at least one-half of your order is due when your order is placed, with the balance due before any part of the order can be delivered. For your convenience, Visa and MasterCard, as well as cash are accepted. Checks are made payable to "The Portrait Shop". Layaway plans are available upon request and prices are subject to change without notice. Most portraits will be ready in about 4-6 weeks or in some cases sooner. You will be notified by phone imm ediately when we receive your priceless images. No part of any order will be delivered until the outstanding balance is paid in full. Due to our limited storage area, orders not picked up within 30 days of notification will be disposed of without prior approval and all payments will be forfeited. If you would like your order shipped to you, we ship via UPS. Please add $10 for packaging, shipping, and insurance. Only orders placed by October 31st can be guaranteed, without rush fees, for Christmas delivery. All photographs from The Portrait Shop are copyright according to Federal Copyright Laws. Copying, scanning, or duplicating images is strictly forbidden. The Portrait Shop reserves the right to use any picture for advertising, promotional or print competition use. High school senior yearbook portraits are included at no charge with the purchase of a senior package. You are responsible for delivering your portrait to will take about 2-3 weeks to get the yearbook portrait ready after your session date.
